Last week we celebrated the the launch of my new little blog and venture – My Polish Kitchen – at a pop-up at the Poggenphol Kitchen in St Albans together with Mokoko Cocktails and Tomoka Spirits. The tickets sold out in half and day and all the plates, shot glasses and martini glasses were left empty! I couldn’t have done it without the help of my wonderful Mama and her Bigos (Hunter’s Stew) literally flew out of the pan with much high praise. We also served rye bread canapes, Kasza, Kotlety Mielone, Mizeria and my signature Plum and Poppy Seed bake. The Mokoko boys very cleverly matched the cocktails to the food, too, starting with a champagne cocktail with vodka, Krupnik, honey, lemon, a dill garnish as well as a second Polish Plum Martini which will be featured on their menu throughout the summer. All in all, this was a fantastically enjoyable evening, supported by friends old and new – here’s to new beginnings and to teaching people how to Party like a Pole! Thank you so much to all who came and to Ellie Ophira, too, for her support and help with the planning and to Amma’s Umma for the beautiful menu design.
